The Hampshire Hogs Cricket Club, founded in 1887, has over 400 members and plays mainly declaration cricket against a variety of opposition, including MCC, I Zingari, Free Foresters and international touring sides.
As well as a full Men’s side, the Hogs also run an Academy (Under 25) and Junior sides.
Almost all of the 50 or so annual fixtures are played at the club’s beautiful ground at Warnford, set in the picturesque Meon Valley, and home to the Hogs since 1966.

What a week to start the 2026 cricket season. Our Juniors have been bathed in sunshine all week as the Easter training kicks things off under Ian Stuart’s expert guidance and we prepare for our first UK fixture at the Hurlingham on Sunday. Benedict Fraser has a team worthy of the pantheon of the Gods. Yesterday morning nearly 30 pioneering Hog tourists congregated in Rome for the first full international Hog tour for 20 years. Luton airport had never seen such a sight as a panoply of Hog blazers charged through security and were greeted by inquisitive admirers. Who needs a dog to meet new friends when you can have a Hog blazer? Rebecca (of Rome with Rebecca fame) gave us all a wonderful tour of the City with insights that would make the vestal virgins blush and no doubt kept the Roman Empire spinning and the Colosseum brimming with sporting activity, if it can be called that. So today we start the foreign tour with a game against Roma Capannelle Cricket Club and the inspirational Leandro Mati Jayarajah Beranger as Captain. May the sporting Gods smile again on a wonderful day as our heroic warriors do battle on a pitch that was the home of the Italian Derby. What with the Masters, Grand National and our beloved Wendigo running this weekend it is a feast as fine as the one we enjoyed last night. Che gli dei dello sport sorridano agli Hampshire Hogs!! ... It was very odd seeing the guns out close to the hallowed turf, but we survived the barrage! Rock on 2026! 🏏 ... See MoreSee Less
